About Me
I was born and raised in Richmond, Virginia. In 2009, I graduated from Hanover High School. In order to pursue my lifelong passion for teaching and working with children, I chose to attend Virginia Commonwealth University for their School of Education. While at Virginia Commonwealth University I received my Masters Degree in Elementary Teaching and my Bachelors Degree of Interdisciplinary Studies: Liberal Studies for Early and Elementary Education.
For my semester long student teaching internship, I was placed at both Bellevue Elementary School and Oak Grove Elementary School. Both elementary schools are located in the Richmond Public School District. I spent eight weeks at both locations. While at Bellevue Elementary, I was in a full day fourth grade classroom composed of 19 students (11 boys and 8 girls), including special needs students and English Language Learners (ELL). While at Oak Grove Elementary, I was in a full day first grade classroom composed of 18 students (8 boys and 10 girls). During my time at both internships, I was responsible for the complete planning and execution of lessons in all curricular areas, communication with parents and staff, and monitoring social, behavioral and academic behavior.
Please feel free to contact me with any additional questions at [email protected] or (804) 514-2356. I look forward to hearing from you!
